Production Manager

(256) 468-4399

Sam Chang is a production manager and live events professional with more than a decade of experience across some of the industry's most demanding stages. His background spans creative direction, production management, audio engineering, video and LED design, and stage management — giving him a hands-on understanding of nearly every department he works alongside.

Sam's path into production started where most great careers in live events do — on the stage crew, working as a stagehand and learning the industry from the ground up. That foundation gave him a deep respect for every role on a production and an instinct for how all the pieces fit together.

Later, he got his break as Creative Director for Mariah Carey's Elusive Chanteuse World Tour at 23, and continued with her All I Want For Christmas Is You at New York City's Beacon Theater. Those early years instilled a standard of excellence that has defined his approach to production ever since.

Since then, he has worked across a wide range of formats and stages — serving as Stage Manager for Janelle Monáe, including her opening performance at the 2020 Academy Awards, which earned an Emmy nomination. He worked as Labor Manager and audio engineer for the Super Bowl in Atlanta, leading more than 2,000 stagehands on site.

Scratching the surface of other credits include Taylor Swift's Reputation Tour, Coachella, Glastonbury, world tours with Stray Kids and Seventeen, and Technical Producer for TED.

Sam joins BPM with a deep appreciation for the craft of live production and a commitment to making every show run as smoothly as possible for the team, the artists, and the audience.
